our home in sheperd's bush, london

Here’s a glimpse of our ‘hilton’ in london. It’s my brother’s 1930s flat which iman and I reside for 3 weeks. The flat is strategically located in Shepherd’s Bush. The Grampians is our home. It was my brother’s excellent choice to leave at in preparation for furthering his stay in London and making London his home.
The endless supply of halal meat from the market is just 5 minutes walk from home. Shepherd’s Bush market has always been the place I frequent every time the stock of halal meat ran low.
The newest mall in London; Westfield is too 5 minutes walk from home. And there were the underground and tube stations that lay opposite the mall. There’s also a park, The Shepherd’s Bush Green, 2 minutes walk from home that I spent time at with the lil dude whilst feeding him lunch and dinner. Though it is not as grand as the huge piece of open space of hyde park, but it was enough for the lil dude to have fun at whenever his mama decides not to go out.
Opposite the park, there’s an old smaller scale mall that home the grocers; Morrisons that I frequent for our weekly groceries and Boots for my weekly dosage of moisturizer to keep my skin moist and not like granny’s sagging skin. Morisson's is the only supermarket that has been awarded the Carbon Trust Award for reducing its carbon emission by 5000 tones per day. Morrisson's has put their best footprint forward. So says their poster banner.
Despite of the convenience that is offered, my brother still prefers a landed property. Kerja dulu then u can be choosy, I told my fussy brother.

the city of bath

It was 530pm and we rushed to Bath. Bath was an hour drive to Stonehenge. It was raining cats and dogs throughout our journey. I hated that day as the rain made me feel sick. The weather wasn’t very cold but being wet from walking out from the car to the shops and etc and come back was exasperating.
So Bath was our final destination. It was already dark when we get there. There was nothing much you can see in the dark. The city went dead after dark. And our batteries went flat. To recharge, we went to have dinner at a joint. It was the only joint that is still open and it is located opposite The Roman Baths.
Then, we took some photos in front of ‘the’ building before we call it a day. It was heart-rending that we didn’t get to spend more time in City of Bath. InsyaAllah if rezeki permits.

day 10 - stonehenge, wiltshire

Stonehenge is one hell of a stone lah. The weirdest looking enormous size batu in the middle of no where. Dad who navigates throughout our tour there pun susah nak cari Jalan. Being one of the most famous sites in the world, sadly, there were only a few signboards leading to the venue. With much patience, we finally found our way there. Since it was raining pretty heavily, we didn’t actually pay at its entrance and get in. Hujan lebat, sejuk and had too little time in our hands, made us just park our car at the designated carpark, cross the road and stand by the wired gateway to take photos just to testify our presence. He he he….

day 10 - windsor castle

We didn’t enter Windsor Castle this time around as we were rushing to go to Stonehenge and later to Bath. Time and luck really wasn’t on our side. 
It rained heavily when we arrive at Stonehenge, it rained throughout our journey to Bath and it was still raining when we arrive in Bath.

After legoland, we went straight to my most awaited destination. Windsor that is! I have always love Windsor. It has the most beautiful scenery. LOVE LOVE LOVE it there!
In Windsor, we visited its antique galleries that sell atypical items. I wish I could buy them all for my home. Then, it was Windsor Royal Shopping Mall and later the famous Windsor Castle.

day 10 - legoland, windsor

We had too many places to visit on our 10th day in London. First, it was Legoland. Driving to Legoland from home was a smooth ride. We managed to get there in just 45 minutes. Dad is a superb navigator, as always. And it was my brother (again) who accountable for the wheels. More photos to be posted later on, as i gotta get them from my daddy...

day 9 - bicester village
|
|
It was the day when everyone loses their wisdom. Bicester was our journey that day. Shop after shop, pounds after pounds, hours after hours we ‘invested’ in that day. Bicester village witnessed our presence for 8 solid hours. Dari kedai buka sampai tutup! We were amongst the first who arrived and the last to leave. Good for our health as we only had cold sandwiches and juices and too much of walking.
Btw, Bicester Village is 2 hours drive from our home. We had a smooth drive on A4 highway and it was my brother who was the designated driver for this trip.

Mama had an appointment with some friends today and that left us with free and easy program. We all left home at 430pm and dropped mama off at oxford street. But before we leave home, my brother tapau-ed 3 pieces of kebab from his favourite kebab joint near home.
I ordered mutton and it tasted so soooo GOOD! I kid you not! I walloped half greedily and the remaining half was my mom’s portion. The kebab was way too nig for my empty tummy.
After our ‘tanks’ were filled with food and leaving my mama with her friends, dad, my brother, iman and I started our journey to regent street. We went to many retail outlets but my favs were the ferrari boutique and hamleys among others.
Then we headed to piccadilly circus and later to Leicester square. It was almost dinner time so we decided to have a quick bite at burger king before we head home.

day 7 - post big ben (meeting with the cousins and AUNT!)

Since we got to london, the lil dude has been eating a lot lesser but has increased his milk intake by 100%. The recommended intake for his age is 2-3 bottles a day. Nevertheless, his usual consumption is 6-7 bottles a day. To my amazement, his consumption in LONDON is 12 bottles A DAY! Nothing less! And that pattern started since the 1st day we were in ‘laden’ and it prolonged to the 20th day. Since his consumption of milk increased tremendously, he takes 1.5 bowls of porridge a day instead of 3.
I accepted the changes very positively. I wasn’t worry but was alarmed when his stocks of milk diminished in a split second. Then I substitute it with fresh milk. From my observation, the ‘new’ taste from fresh milk wasn’t up to his liking. I immediately contacted darling husband and get him to send 3 more packets of milk from shah alam via his cousins and aunt.
I was lucky that the milk turn up in time.
Aunty Ana, Netty, Zal, Zawana and Ashriq did lent us a helping hand for the lil TAN SRI’s sake. Aiyooooo…. Very demanding lah!
The whole gang plus tasha who is also graduating dropped by Shepherd’s Bush to deliver the much awaited stocks. Thank you all!

day 7 - big ben TING TONG TING TONG

Day 7 – The big ben, london eye and the parliamentary estate captured iman’s attention today. It looks like the lil dude refused to tolerate and be in his stroller, so we let him free instead. He certainly enjoyed his ‘freedom’ that day.
I asked him later that day whilst washing him up in the bathroom, what he would remember london of?
He replied; uncle amai ‘laden’ bus, ‘laden’ taxi, big ben ting tong ting tong, Thomas, ‘laden’ eye, , nice car, many birds.
He he he… kids. They are frank. They answer sincerely not knowing some truthful facts are hurtful. I guess my brother, the red double decker london bus, black london taxi, the big ben, london eye, tube, flashy cars mostly own by the arabs in london were all he associated with LONDON.
I don’t know what went wrong with me. My energy didn’t kick off like it used to. Perhaps i am too tired with a lot of walking. I requested to go home early and decided not to take any rides. So we all got home, mama cooked din din, had dinner and zzzzzzzzzzzz!
