I must admit that I am not a good cook. Being married to a fussy eater for a wonderful 4 years, that hasn’t changed my passion towards cooking. I never improved, but I have learnt the hard way the hassle of cooking. It wasn’t easy when going to the market or grocers, and not be able to distinguish the fish am supposed to buy, which part of daging is good for what dish, sometimes, I couldn’t recognize a certain type of sayur.

Blame the lazy old me. I only cook what I love to eat. Enough said. On top of that, my food vocab is very little. I don’t experiment new food. And I don’t really fancy malay food to be frank with all of you. I know nasi lemak, roti jala is what I love eating. Kari kepala ikan too. But if malay dishes were offered, I will wallop without a single complaint. Am not a picky eater, you see.

So no matter what I cook, daging masak lemak cili padi or ayam goreng berempah for example, they will taste different every time they hit the kuali. Seriously, although I have my own receipe book that I usually refer to, but tak sama la….

Darling husband is a great critic. He’ll be able to tell me apa kurang, apa lebih, what to add more, what type of chili/salt/sugar to use and etc. Although, he will never stop criticizing my cooking, that didn’t make me feel doomed. I welcome negative comments with open heart, especially from darling husband. Because by the end of the day, I know I will improve my cooking skills.

So, here are some home cooked food I was happy to cook, serve and eat and then VOMIT...

My lil chatter box has become more conversational than I ever expected. Apart from being inquisitive, he likes to sneak at what I was doing, snooping the recycle bag of my purchase from the grocers, meddle with chores etc. Such a nosy that he is, I am glad that he wants to know everything about what is happening around him. He has so much character and energy like his daddy. Alhamdullilah.

My darling son has started a new journey. After many months of surveying, assessing, and putting all thoughts into consideration, darling husband and I finally decided to send our dearest son to real kids in bukit jelutong. It was all started when I decided not to send him to any of the pre-schools in shah alam. Neither in subang jaya. It was my preference and I can now stand proud that I made the right choice.

When making decisions on which school to send him to, there were many factors I had looked into. Most pre-schools (let me re-phrase – NOT ALL) in shah alam were too kampong and some in subang jaya were too chokia to my liking. First of all, I would love my son obtain hands on experience and to be inculcated actual school environment at a young age. So, pre-schools that operate from rumah kedai or rumah orang were not in my list at all. And since bukit jelutong is just nearby, it was an excellent choice. Syukur alhamdullilah.

Decisions were made, fees were paid when I didn’t know that there’s another surprise making its debut.

I’m loving the fact and proud to broadcast that another family member will be joining the hezrins clan sometime in july. InsyaAllah. My second pregnancy was a long awaited gift darling husband and i prayed for. I guess, we didn’t get lucky earlier, in this department but we were indeed lucky in many other departments. It was all iman’s rezeki, let’s just put it that way.

I strongly believe that I will conceive when Allah knows when I AM READY. Enough said. I get so annoyed with certain individuals who were very offensive with their words. They pester me with questions like; “bila lagi ni?” and “You’re not that young anymore, you know”. “It’s time to roll another baby out of your womb.”

Frankly speaking, it was rather heartbreaking and demotivating than feeling encouraging and to some extent I felt menyampah having deluged with such statements. Maybe I was being too thin-skinned. I could have punched those people in their faces in the first place. Ha ha ha…

Well, what matters the most is my family. Others, well….. lantaklah!

But I am glad that my lil nuclear family has achieved part of our goals. Looking forward to start the brand new year with more challenges and positive changes. InsyaAllah.

It was new year’s eve and I was husbandless. What could be more ideal than that? Oh well, life isn’t always perfect after all. We don’t always get what we want, right?

All I had in mind for new year celebration was to chill @ chsa and be entertained by the live band. Since I was husbandless, dad & mama decided to drive iman and me to my bird nest to enjoy the fireworks. Prior leaving to kl, we all had din din @ dome @ subang parade. Soon after din din, we rushed to kl, went cruising in kl town then to my bird nest. being on the 14th floor, we all have the benefit of the height. Boleh nampak fireworks from 5 different locations, even from genting!

Then, we watched TV, had some snacks and head home. I wish darling husband was with us. The view at night from our bird nest was breathtaking. I hope I will not be spending another new year’s eve without darling husband around. But definitely with another baby, insyaAllah.

My sister and I planned a small surprise birthday dinner for our dearest mama on 29 dec 2009, one day before her birthday. Since it was a weekday, we all decided to celebrate at a nearby hotel, at concorde shah alam to be precise.

We made reservation, prepared the balloons, got the cake and waited for mama & dad to arrive at the upper deck of melting pot café. We were unsure whether or not to holler at mama as it was her surprise birthday dinner. Being selamba, I decided to shout my lungs out and encouraged others to adhere to my rules. I was indeed confident that the other guests were not bothered with our perangai.

And so we did. Darling husband, faly, my sister & the kids did shout our lungs out and made my mama flabbergasted. Ha ha ha… it was fun and certainly made my mama’s day…

His day starts at 630am from Monday to Friday. When he get up, iman will observe his daddy and mama perform subuh prayer, his daddy gets ready for work, his mama making the bed among others.

Then, at 7am iman takes his bath and once he is in his school uniform, he will proceed to the TV room to watch cartoon while mama prepares his breakfast. From 715 to 735am, iman will have his breakfast and then get ready for school.

He will observe his mama carefully putting his socks and shoes on. He later grabs his school bag and tumbler and will be on standby at the door. Our journey to school begin at 745am and it took us exactly 15 minutes to reach school.

Iman’s mama ensures that iman will be @ school at 800am as his class starts at 815am and ends at 1145am.

and this is just the BEGINNING.

note : iman goes to real kids preschool in bukit jelutong.

It was only 3 of us this time around as one mommy still jetlagged upon returning from breathing chilly british air. We had brunch at labodega BSC, talked a lot, laughed a lot and exchanged opinions other than just our usual topics; school going kids, lives and etc.

As we had promised, we brought him to watch movie for the second time before the year ends. Since we had no idea that planet 51 shows are limited only at klcc, we drove all the way from SA to ensure the lil dude get to watch what he calls; the alien cartoon.

The movie starts at 520pm and ended just before 7pm. By the end of the movie I realized I do now have a loyal companion to go watch movie with, whenever darling husband isn’t around.

I apologize for the long absence. I have not been in a perfect state of health. Fatigue, I am. Grumpy, I am. Boring, I always am. Apart from that, a food monster, I absolutely am. Oh well, having spent plenty of time at home (with the usual house chores plus additional ones.)

So I let these photos do the talking.
